Welcome to our non-profit Fundacja Civic Tech organization, where we are committed to using technology to foster positive change in society. Our goal is to promote civic engagement and empower individuals to participate in their communities and make a difference.
Our team of passionate professionals and volunteers brings together a unique blend of skills and expertise to create innovative solutions for the social, economic, and political challenges of our time. We focus on different areas, including government transparency, civic education, community organizing, and more.
In 2015, we launched Petitions.by, our flagship web portal, which has become a valuable platform for facilitating the open exchange of information between citizens and governments at central and local levels. We developed Petitions.by in response to amendments to legislation that prohibited collective action and gatherings of three or more people without government permission in Belarus. It also provides citizens with a safe place to publicly discuss government policy and a mechanism for collective action.
Unfortunately, in 2020, our NGO and team in Belarus were attacked by security forces of the Lukashenka regime, and our NGO was forcibly liquidated. As a result, we were had to move our office to Warsaw and now operate in exile.
Despite the challenges we face, we remain committed to our belief that technology can be a powerful tool for promoting democracy and improving the lives of citizens. By leveraging cutting-edge tools and techniques, we strive to create a more accessible, inclusive, and participatory democracy.
At Fundacja Civic Tech, we welcome anyone who shares our values and is committed to making a positive difference in their community. We invite volunteers, donors, and partners who want to join us in our mission to create a better world.
